She lives in a wonderland of books, posting pictures daily of the magic that surrounds her. A vast green landscape, crowded shelves, opened pages filled with ink, books posed in her delicate hands, her vibrant hair flowing in the wind, with a herd of alpacas right by her side. No she isn’t a superhero, Disney princess or a character in a fairytale, she is in fact a real 20 year old native from Colorado named Taylor Knight.
The lovely Taylor has always had a love affair with books since she could walk. Her mother nurtured her love by always keeping a book in her and her sister’s hands, and as she blossomed so did her passion for photography and literature. Thus began the adventures told through images of @taylorreads account, hidden in the lovely niche book lovers created on Instagram, called Bookstagram.
What inspired you to start your Bookstagram?
I’d seen a few Bookstagram accounts before starting my own and I loved how they created a space just for books. It seemed like so much fun to talk with other people about reading and books and I wanted to be apart of that.
Did you always have a knack for photography? Or did you go to school to learn?
I had a polaroid camera when I was around 6 and I took pictures of everything. I continued to take photos of stuff for awhile but I didn’t become serious about the quality of my pictures until I was 15. I really started to put a lot of effort into my photography at that point.
What do you love most about books?
I love how books can transport the reader to so many places and you can become so invested in a fantasy world.
Do you write? If so do you want to be an author?
I wish I did! I just don’t seem to have the patience for it.
How has your love for all things literature inspired you?
It’s inspired me to be more creative, more open minded, and to see perspectives different from my own.

What is your advice for someone trying to start their own Bookstagram?
Try not to stress about the details. Take pictures that you love and don’t worry what others will like. Create for yourself, not for others.
Who is your favorite author?
That’s such a difficult question! It’s probably a tie between J.K. Rowling and Colleen Hoover.
If you were to escape into a fictional world you’ve read about, what world and why?
I’d probably escape to the world in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas. Sarah created such a magical, imaginative world and I’d love to be able to see it for real.

I own a herd of alpacas.
Do you ever see your self stopping your bookstagram?
I’m having so much fun with Bookstagram, I don’t see myself ever stopping.

I get my inspiration from everywhere. It could be the cover of the book I’m reading, a really pretty sunset, or the colors of a sports team.
What is the best part about bookstagram?
All the friends I’ve made. I met my best friends through Bookstagram and I love how our friendship was built on our love of books.
